Four Great Hiking Trails in Broken Bow, Oklahoma

Everyone who has been to or just heard of Broken Bow, OK probably knows it is big on the outdoors. With the outdoors comes numerous beautiful hiking trails for anyone to explore. I have personally hiked some of the trails Beavers Bend State Park has to offer and was not disappointed. Here are 4 trails I believe you won’t want to miss out on in Broken Bow.
1) Friends Trail Loop is a 1.5 mile loop that travels along the river then loops back to where you began. It is a leisure hike with little incline. This trail is very good for the family and it a popular trail in Beavers Bend State Park. This is a perfect beginners trail with many beautiful points to stop and see the river and get amazing pictures. Friends Trail Loop takes roughly an hour to complete.
2) Spill Way Loop is a 4 mile loop trail similar hiking to Friends Trail Loop with little incline, it is only much longer. I would consider this trail to be intermediate due to the length but still very doable for the family. It follows the river until you reach the Broken Bow Lake spill way where they release water from the lake into the river below. It is very neat to see and worth every bit of the long hike. This trail takes about 2 hours to complete.
3) Cedar Bluff Nature Trail is my personal favorite trail Broken Bow. This trail is not long being almost 1 mile long. However, it has a moderately steep incline to get to the top, but it does not disappoint. At the top there is a beautiful lookout view of the river and the mountains. There are many great photo opportunities as well. This trail takes roughly 30 minutes to complete and merges into another trail (Skyline Trail) at the top so you can keep hiking if you want to.
4) Deer Crossing Trail is a 3.9 mile trail in the center of Beavers Bent State Park. This trail has lots of variation in elevation as you hike through the hills/mountains. It features lots of true nature in the forest with tall pines and creeks running through. I think it is an intermediate trail but still very family friendly. Deer Crossing trail takes about 2 hours to complete so bring some water. It is not one you want to miss!
